The rooms are large and furnished to a high standard. They have large windows, which on the upper floors offer great views of Hamburg and the alster. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in the excellent condition one would expect of an Intercontinental hotel. The windows restaurant is on the top floor. It is a traditional, elegant restaurant, decorated in beige and dark browns. The walls are partly covered with wooden panelling and partly with fabric. The large windows offer magnificent views of the city. The cuisine offered is international and french and of outstanding quality. It is large, modern white building which is set back off the road, surrounded by trees and the beautyful Alster Park. The lobby is very large and elegantly furnished. The carpet has a brown beige pattern and the walls are covered with wood panelling. There are several seating areas furnished with heavy traditional leather seats. Overall, the lobby is very elegant. A quiet residential side street is an unassuming locale for the elegant InterContinental Hamburg. Alster Lake is just outside the door, and the city centre, main business district and Congress Centre Hamburg are an easy walk away. Other nearby ®musts® include the St Pauli district, St Michael®s Church, Hamburg Botanical Garden and the fish market.
